EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE SERVICES
The Employment Assistance Program is built around a client-centered approach. We assess knowledge skills, strengths that are already developed as well as interests and life experiences. We work to ensure that our clients gain better employment in Canada.
TCES serves all unemployed individuals, with a focus on newcomers, immigrants, and women who face multiple barriers to employment.
Through employment counselling and hands on job search workshops, clients set realistic employment goals and are linked to employers. We have successfully placed medical professionals, IT specialists, health care specialists, accountants and administrative assistants.
POST PROGRAM SUPPORT
After completing the Job Search Workshops program, the clients are able to update their resumes and cover letters through TCES. They receive ongoing support from the counsellors/facilitators and Placement Coordinator/Job Developer. Clients are also provided job leads and labour market information.
THE JOB SEARCH WORKSHOP
The Job Search workshops are designed to be practical and relevant. The Job Search techniques and materials provided clients with tools they can use to make a difference in their search. They help in writing an effective resume and cover letters, improving interview skills through practice, accessing the hidden job market, creating a benefit statement and building a personal profile that can build confidence / self esteem.
PLACEMENT COORDINATOR
This position permits further research into the labour market. The coordinator facilitates referrals to prospective employers while assisting the client in finding new contacts and job leads.
WEB REGISTRATION
The Web Registration System was developed to meet the needs of assessment centre clients who register for Employment Assistance Services. It allows participating organizations to check if potential clients are already being case managed by another centre.
